During my internship with Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) our team was tasked with contributing logo ideas for two rounds of the rebranding process. “Learning Without Tears” was the primary name that we were working with in the first round. Since HWT is a company that produces educational books and products, I wanted the logo concepts to embody this. As a result, my first round of logo ideas included an option with a black and white chalkboard, pencil, and light bulb, all symbols that represent learning and education.
In the second round of options, I experimented more with icons within the logo. We were also tasked with creating logo options for “The Learning Without Tears Group LWT” and “Olsen Learning.” In addition, we experimented with options that included HWT’s other two brands: “Get Set For School” and “Keyboarding Without Tears.” With this round, I tried using more HWT colors. I wanted the colorfulness and fun aspect of the logos to appeal to parents, educators, and children, while still maintaining a professional aesthetic.
